MIDDLETOWN, Conn. – The Wesleyan Student-Athlete of Color Leadership Council (SACLC) continues to be an active pillar in the community, as the group hosted student-athletes from Bulkeley High School in Hartford, Conn., on Wednesday, May 9.

The event featured a tour of the Freeman Athletic Center and the campus, and the high school students were able to have lunch with some current Wesleyan student-athletes. The Cardinals' players also made themselves available in a panel format to answer a variety of questions from the Bulkeley students, which ranged from everyday life to recruiting, sports and Wesleyan as a whole.
Eric Mangini '94, the former head coach of the New York Jets and Cleveland Browns, attended Bulkeley High, where he starred as a linebacker, and then he continued his playing career as a nose tackle at Wesleyan.
This was the second event that the SACLC coordinated with Bulkeley, and the group hopes to build a deeper relationship with the school by arranging an event every month starting next fall.
