WEShadow helps scholar-athletes build bridges to their future. This program connects current scholar-athletes with athletic alumni who visit campus, serve as mentors and stay in contact by phone and e-mail. Athletic alumni mentors also identify valuable workplace internships and help guide students through the process of preparing for the all-important transition from undergraduate student to postgraduate professional life.
Adam Purdy '13, Men's Soccer, was looking for a summer internship within the sports industry. Jared Ashe '07, who works at Lazard Asset Management, became a mentor to Adam through this process. They spoke on the phone and via email about places to look for an internship as well as preparation for the upcoming interviews. Though he did not get the position at Lazard, their talks prepared him for his interviews with MLS where he did receive an internship.
"The A+ program has put me in contact with some great alums who have given me great advice and helped me prepare for my future."
