HADLEY, Mass. – Senior wide receiver Mike Breuler of the Wesleyan University football team was named the NESCAC Offensive Player of the Week for his stellar performance in Saturday's come-from-behind victory over Tufts in overtime, 24-17.
Breuler secured the game-winning touchdown in the extra session to cap off an incredible game, in which he caught 13 passes for 201 yards in Wesleyan's second night game ever. The senior played an instrumental role in the comeback, as he caught seven catches on two scoring drives that sent the game into OT.
Through two games thus far, the senior has amassed an incredible 379 yards and leads all of Division III in yards per game with 189.5 per game. He also leads the NCAA in receptions per game, averaging 14, and has four touchdowns.
Wesleyan is back on the road next Saturday and will play at Hamilton. Kickoff is scheduled for 1 p.m.
