The Wesleyan Men's Basketball team opened their season with a heart-breaking 78-80 loss to Lyndon St. in the first round of the Herb Kenny Tip-Off Tournament.

The Cardinals pulled out to a quick 8-3 lead to begin the first half, and seemed to have control of the game, but Lyndon St came back and took a 42-39 lead heading into the half.

The second half proved to be just as exciting as the first half with Lyndon St controlling much of the half. They had a double-digit lead, but the Cardinals came roaring back with some explosive plays on offense which brought the game to within two at 78-80.

The game would come down to the final seconds, as Wesleyan committed a costly turnover. The Cardinals then fouled, and the free throw was missed. Wesleyan got the defensive rebound and took it the length of the court, but the last second shot did not fall through, and Lyndon St came out victorious.

Joseph Kuo and Rashid Epps lead the Cardinals in scoring, while Gabriel Torres and Xavier Colbert powered the Lyndon St. offense.

Weselyan will play Clark in the Constilation game at 1PM while Lyndon St will play in the championship against Endicott at 3PM.
