    Jordan Sears ’18 of the 15th-ranked Wesleyan men’s basketball team was named the NESCAC Defensive Player of the Year and Austin Hutcherson ’21 was named the Rookie of the Year, as voted on by the conference coaches, while Jordan Bonner ’18 received Second Team praise when the league office released its All-Conference Teams on Wednesday.

Krill posted a double-double with 29 points and 10 rebounds while hitting an incredible 7-of-11 shots from three-point range.

    Wesleyan (20-5)—seeded fourth in the NESCAC Men’s Basketball Championships and ranked No. 14 nationally—will play at top-seeded Amherst (17-8) this Saturday, Feb. 24 in the conference semifinals beginning at 5:30 p.m. in LeFrak Gymnasium. The winner of Saturday’s showdown will advance to the finals where they will face the winner of No. 2 Williams (20-5) versus No. 3 Hamilton (22-3) on Sunday, Feb. 25 at 2:30 p.m.

    The fourth-seeded Wesleyan University men’s basketball team advanced to the NESCAC Semifinals following an impressive second half rally led by Jordan Sears ’18 and Kevin O’Brien ’19 as the Cardinals defeated fifth-seeded Middlebury College, 73-65, on Saturday afternoon in a packed Silloway Gymnasium.

    Junior guard Jordan Bonner of the 14th-ranked Wesleyan University men’s basketball team was named the NESCAC Player of the Week for his stellar performance during a 3-1 stretch that included back-to-back conference wins over Bates and Tufts, respectively. Monday’s announcement by the league office marks his second weekly honor this season.

    Jordan Bonner '19 hit a pair of free throws to tie the game at 68-68 with only 0.06 on the clock, but Michael Soffer of Purchase College caught an inbounds pass that was thrown the length of the court and instantly got the shot off as he banked in the buzzer-beater to defeat the No. 14 Wesleyan University men's basketball team, 71-68 on Monday night.

    The 14th-ranked Wesleyan University men’s basketball team came up short against 18th-ranked Hamilton College on the road Friday night, 76-70. The Cardinals, led by freshman guard Antone Walker’s 17 points off the bench, drop to 10-3 overall and 1-2 in the NESCAC. The win for the Continentals’ keeps Hamilton’s unbeaten streak intact as it improves to 13-0 overall and 2-0 in league play.

    The 14th-ranked Wesleyan University men’s basketball team defeated No. 4 Middlebury College Saturday afternoon in Silloway Gymnasium, 80-70. Three players scored in double-figures for the Cardinals, who led most of the game, as they improve to 10-2 overall and 1-1 in the NESCAC. Following the loss, the Panthers drop to 8-3 on the season and 1-1 in league play.
  • No. 14 Wesleyan Losses to No. 11 Williams in OT Thriller, 76-68

    Friday night’s NESCAC opener featured another overtime thriller between Little Three archrivals Wesleyan University and Williams College, however, the 11th-ranked Ephs came out on top this time as they overcame a halftime deficit to defeat the 14th-ranked Cardinals, 76-68. The loss is the first for Wesleyan in Silloway Gymnasium this season as it drops to 9-2 overall and 0-1 in league play. Williams is now 10-2 on the year and 1-0 in the conference. It was the second meeting between the two programs this year with the Cardinals claiming a 72-67 win in OT on Dec. 2 in Williamstown, Mass.
  • Wesleyan Drops First Game of Season to Springfield, 72-67

    The 12th-ranked Wesleyan University men’s basketball team lost its first game of the 2017-18 season Sunday night against Springfield College, 72-67, at the Hampton Inn West Springfield/Naismith Classic. The Cardinals won at least nine-straight games to open the year for the second consecutive season—they won 11 in a row last year—and are now 9-1 overall. With the win, the Pride improves to 6-5.

    The 18th-ranked Wesleyan University men’s basketball team overcame an early 15-0 deficit to rally and defeat Brandeis University on Saturday afternoon, 71-61. Freshman Austin Hutcherson finished with a season-high 27 points as he went 7-of-9 from downtown.
