The Wesleyan University men's basketball team has released its schedule for the upcoming 2017-18 campaign. Entering a 10th season under Head Coach Joe Reilly, this year's Cardinals look to continue the momentum of two NCAA tournament appearances in the past three seasons and back-to-back Little Three titles. Wesleyan will face a 24-game slate, and will play eight games against teams who were in the 2016-17 NCAA Tournament.
The season will begin with the annual Herb Kenny Tip Off tournament (sponsored by the Radisson Cromwell) on November 17th and 18th. The tournament has been dedicated to legendary Coach Herb Kenny, who won over 300 games leading the Cardinals on the hardwood for 27 years. December marks the beginning of Little Three play, as the Cardinals travel to Williamstown to play Williams in a non-conference showdown on Saturday evening, December 2nd. The following week, Wesleyan hosts Brandeis University, a member of the highly competitive University Athletic Association (UAA). The Cardinals wrap up the 2017 calendar year with a trip to Springfield for the Springfield/Naismith Classic on Saturday, December 30th and Sunday, December 31st.
NESCAC play opens in January, as the Cardinals host Williams on Friday, January 5th followed by reigning defending champion Middlebury on Saturday, January 6th. Senior Weekend will be the Bates/Tufts match ups at the end of January.
Wesleyan home games will be streamed online free of charge and can be found at athletics.wesleyan.edu. Live statistics will also be available. To view the full schedule, CLICK HERE.
