Men's Crew Cruises Past Coast Guard Academy in Spring Opener

NEW LONDON, Conn. – Wesleyan University's men's crew team defeated the U.S. Coast Guard Academy in all three races on Saturday in the team's first competition of the spring season.

HIGHLIGHTS:

  • In the closest race of the day, Wesleyan edged ahead of USCGA in the Varsity 8 as it crossed the finish line in 5:38. The Bears finished in 5:41.
  • Racing in the Second Varsity 8, the Cardinals cruised to a time of 5:44, while USCGA's boat clocked in at 5:57.
  • The Third Varsity 8 boat finished comfortably ahead of USCGA, registering a time of 6:10 compared to Coast Guard's mark of 6:35.

UP NEXT:

  • On Saturday, April 7th, Wesleyan heads to Worcester, Mass., to compete against WPI, Colby, UMass, and Hamilton.
