  • Men’s Lacrosse Coaching Staff Honored by IMLCA

    Following a historic 2017 season, the Wesleyan University men’s lacrosse coaching staff was recognized by the Intercollegiate Men’s Lacrosse Coaches Association (IMLCA), and was named the Northeast Region Coaching Staff of the Year.
  • Ted Bergman ’17 Named Top Goalie in Division III

    Senior Ted Bergman of the Wesleyan University men’s lacrosse team was recognized as the top goalie in all of Division III, as he was named the Ensign C. Markland Kelly, Jr. Award Outstanding Goalie by the United States Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association (USILA).
  • Bergman Selected to play in USILA/Nike North-South All-Star Game

    Senior goalie Ted Bergman of the Wesleyan University men’s lacrosse team has been selected to play in the 2017 Division III USILA/Nike North-South Game on Friday, May 26. The senior all-star game will be played on Chapey Field at Anderson Stadium on the campus of Providence College, beginning at 3 p.m.

    The Wesleyan University men’s lacrosse team continues to break program records in 2017 as the Cardinals put seven players on the USILA/Nike All-America Teams, including two First Team selections in senior goalie Ted Bergman and junior attack Harry Stanton.
  • Historic 2017 Season Comes to an End for No. 4 Wesleyan; Loses to No. 2 RIT in NCAA Semifinals

    The No. 4 Wesleyan University men’s lacrosse team lost to No. 2 RIT in the 2017 NCAA Division III Semifinals on Sunday, 22-9. Harry Stanton ’18 scored five of the team’s nine goals, while Chad Levick recorded 10 points (7g, 3a) and Ryan Lee added nine (5g, 4a) for the Tigers, who advance to the championship game and will play No. 1 Salisbury for the title on Sunday, May 28 at Gillette Stadium.
  • No. 4 Wesleyan to Face No. 2 RIT in NCAA Semifinals on Sunday

    For the third time in program history, the Wesleyan University men’s lacrosse team has advanced to the Final Four following a thrilling 14-13 win over No. 3 Bates College in the 2017 NCAA Division III Quarterfinals. The Cardinals (20-1) – ranked No. 4 in the USILA/NIKE Coaches Poll – will travel to Rochester, N.Y. to face No. 2 RIT (19-2) in the national semifinals on Sunday, May 21 at 1 p.m. The winner advances to the championship game at Gillette Stadium in Foxboro, Mass. on Sunday, May 28, and will play the winner of No. 1 Salisbury (20-1)/No. 7 Denison (18-1).
  • No. 4 Wesleyan Advances to Final Four! Holds off No. 3 Bates in a NCAA Quarterfinal Thriller, 14-13

    Ahead 6-0 at halftime, the No. 4 Wesleyan University men’s lacrosse team saw its lead slowly diminish as No. 3 Bates College tied the game with 1:29 to play in regulation. However, junior Harry Stanton came up big for the Cardinals once again and found the back of the net for the game-winner with 38 seconds remaining in the game as Wesleyan edged the Bobcats, 14-13 in a thrilling NCAA Division III Quarterfinal game to return to the Final Four for the first time since 2007, and the third time overall.
  • No. 4 Wesleyan Hosts No. 3 Bates in NCAA Men’s Lacrosse Quarterfinals

    The fourth-ranked Wesleyan University men’s lacrosse team (19-1) has advanced to the quarterfinals of the 2017 NCAA Division III Championships, and will host NESCAC rival and third-ranked Bates College (16-1) Wednesday, May 17 at 4:30 p.m. on Jackson Field.
  • Wesleyan Earns Seven All-New England Selections; Raba Named Co-Coach of the Year

    Seven members of the fourth-ranked Wesleyan University men’s lacrosse team were named to the 2017 New England Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association (NEILA) All-New England Teams, while head coach John Raba was named the Co-Coach of the Year alongside Peter Lasagna from Bates College.
  • No. 4 Wesleyan Advances to Quarterfinals with 17-8 Win Over No. 12 Tufts, 17-8

    For the third time this season, the No. 4 Wesleyan University men’s lacrosse team defeated No. 12 Tufts University as the Cardinals cruised to a 17-8 win over the Jumbos Saturday in the third round of the 2017 NCAA Division III Championships. Harry Stanton ’18 scored six goals to lead Wesleyan, while also setting a single-season program record. He now has 76 goals through 20 games, surpassing the old mark of 73 set by John Landay ’01 during the 2001 season. Landay scored 73 goals in 20 games as well.
  • No. 4 Wesleyan Hosts NESCAC Rival No. 12 Tufts in NCAA Third Round

    For the third time this season, the No. 4 Wesleyan University men’s lacrosse team will face No. 12 Tufts University, as the two NESCAC rivals face each other in the third round of the 2017 NCAA Division III Championships on Saturday, May 13 at 1 p.m. on Jackson Field.
  • Hawthorne Sets Program Record as No. 4 Wesleyan Cruises Past New England in Second Round, 25-6

    The No. 4 Wesleyan University men’s lacrosse team cruised to a decisive 25-6 win over New England College Wednesday evening in the second round of the 2017 NCAA Division III Championships. With six assists, sophomore attack Carter Hawthorne set a single-season program record and now has 51 on the season. The previous mark was 48 assists in 2001 by John Landay ’01.

    Carter Hawthorne ’19 of the fourth-ranked Wesleyan University men’s lacrosse team has been named the NESCAC Player of the Week, following his stellar performance this past weekend in which he helped guide the Cardinals to their second conference title in program history.
  • NESCAC CHAMPS! Men’s Lacrosse Rallies to Defeat Middlebury, 9-8

    Trailing the majority of the game, the second-seeded Wesleyan University men’s lacrosse team rallied in the second half to defeat sixth-seeded Middlebury College in a thrilling NESCAC Championship game, 9-8. Harry Stanton ’18 scored the game-winner with 4:58 to play in regulation as the Cardinals captured their second conference title in program history, and first since 2009.
  • No. 4 Wesleyan Hosts New England College in Second Round of NCAA Championships

    For the first time since 2009, the Wesleyan University men’s lacrosse team will compete in the NCAA Division III Championships after claiming the automatic bid from the NESCAC following a thrilling 9-8 victory over Middlebury College in the conference title game earlier today. The Cardinals will host New England College in the Second Round Wednesday, May 10.
  • No. 2 Men’s Lacrosse Advances to NESCAC TItle Game; Routs No. 5 Tufts in Semifinals, 17-12

    The nationally-ranked No. 8 Wesleyan University men’s lacrosse team, seeded No. 2 in the NESCAC Championships, routed 10th-ranked and fifth-seeded Tufts University in the semifinals Saturday, 17-12. The Cardinals advance to the NESCAC Championship game behind a stellar 14-goal first half performance, and will play sixth-seeded Middlebury for the title tomorrow at 12 p.m.
  • Men’s Lacrosse Returns to NESCAC Semifinals

    The Wesleyan University men’s lacrosse team – seeded No. 2 in the NESCAC Championships – returns to the semifinals for the first time since 2014 and will play fifth-seeded Tufts University on Saturday, May 6 at 3 p.m. on the campus of Bates College. Both teams also rank in the top-10 nationally, with the Cardinals sitting at No. 8 in the USILA Coaches Poll and the Jumbos claiming the No. 10 spot.
  • Raba Named NESCAC Coach of the Year; Four Cardinals Earn All-Conference

    The nationally-ranked No. 8 Wesleyan University men’s lacrosse team was well represented on the NESCAC All-Conference Teams, which were announced Thursday by the conference office and voted on by the league’s coaches. Headlining the group was Head Coach John Raba, who was named the NESCAC Coach of the Year, while Ted Bergman ’17, Taylor Ghesquiere ’18 and Harry Stanton ’18 garnered First Team accolades, and Ben Shively ’18 earned Second Team honors.

The Cardinals increased their win streak to 14, while setting a program record with nine NESCAC victories.

    Harry Stanton ’18 of the seventh-ranked Wesleyan University men’s lacrosse team was named the NESCAC Co-Lacrosse Player of the Week alongside Charlie Fay of Bates College, as announced Monday by the league office. It's the second time this season that Stanton has been honored by the conference.

    Junior Harry Stanton of the ninth-ranked Wesleyan University men’s lacrosse team helped lead a thrilling comeback victory over No. 3 Tufts University Saturday afternoon on Jackson Field, while senior Tom Dupont scored the game-winning goal with just :19 remaining on the clock to give the Cardinals the 17-16 win. Stanton tied a program record with eight goals – four in the final 15 minutes of play – as the Cardinals earned the incredible come-from-behind win in their final regular season home game of the season.

    Harry Stanton ’18 scored four goals and dished out two assists to help lead the ninth-ranked Wesleyan University men’s lacrosse team past Skidmore College in a non-conference thriller Tuesday night, 12-9. The win marks the 12th-straight for the Cardinals as they improve to 12-1 overall.

    In an incredibly close game that went back-and-forth throughout, the 11th-ranked Wesleyan University men’s lacrosse team prevailed over No. 15 Bowdoin College on the road Saturday, 10-9, on a game-winning goal from Harry Stanton ’18 with 8:16 to play. The victory extended the Cardinals’ win streak to 11 straight games.
  • No. 11 Men’s Lacrosse Wins 10th-Straight Game, Defeats Trinity 13-7

    The 11th-ranked Wesleyan University men’s lacrosse team won its 10th-consecutive game Tuesday night as it defeated in-state rival Trinity College, 13-7. The Cardinals, ahead by one at halftime, scored 10 second half goals to pull away.
  • LITTLE THREE CHAMPS! Men’s Lacrosse Defeats Williams, 11-8

    With an 11-8 win over archrival Williams College Saturday afternoon, the 13th-ranked Wesleyan University men’s lacrosse team claimed the Little Three title outright for the 11th time in program history, and the first time since 2013. Taylor Ghesquire ’18, Harry Stanton ’18 and Carter Hawthorne ’19 each scored three goals, while Stanton and Hawthorne also added an assist to lead the Cardinals.
