Led by Head Coach John Raba, the Cardinals' staff also consisted of Assistant Coaches Will Pilat, Will Parker, Charlie Congleton '07, Elijah Weeks and Rick McCarthy.

Wesleyan finished the season with an incredible 20-2 record, which included a trip to the NCAA Semifinals, a NESCAC Championship and a Little Three title. The team won 20-straight games from March 8-to-May 17 before falling to No. 2 RIT in the Final Four. Additionally, the Cardinals finished No. 4 overall in the final USILA/Nike Coaches Poll to mark their highest ranking in program history.

With a majority of the team returning next season, including First Team All-American Harry Stanton '18, Second Team All-American Taylor Ghesquiere '18, and All-America Honorable Mentions Christian Barker '19, Carter Hawthorne '19 and Ben Shively '18, the Cardinals earned the No. 1 spot in the "Way-Early 2018 Rankings" by USLacrosse Magazine.
