The Lead: The Wesleyan University men's soccer team suffered a 2-0 defeat against NESCAC foe Bates College on Saturday afternoon.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
  • The Bobcats scored two first half goals, the first coming off the foot of Luke McNabb at 35:33 and the second coming at 41:20 by Matt DiVite. Bates would hold the Cardinals scoreless to claim the 2-0 shutout victory. 

 INSIDE THE NUMBERS:

  • Shots were just about even with the Bobcats holding a slight edge at 15-13. Bates put five shots on net while Wesleyan put three on goal.
  • The Cardinals took eight corner kicks while the Bobcats took two.
  • Jack Katkavich '17 made three saves in the match for the visitors.
  • Mike Gallo '20 led Wesleyan with four shots in the game.

 UP NEXT:

  • The Cardinals will return to the pitch on Tuesday September 27th as they will travel to Tufts to take on the Jumbos at 7 p.m.
  • Bates returns to the field tomorrow as they will host Williams at 3 p.m.
