No. 6 Men's Squash Cruises Past No. 11 Conn. College, 9-0

HARTFORD, Conn. – The sixth-seeded Wesleyan University men's squash team cruised to a 9-0 sweep over No. 11 Connecticut College Friday night in first round action at the 2016 NESCAC Men's Squash Championship at the George A. Kellner Squash Center on the campus of Trinity College.


MATCH HIGHLIGHTS

  • The Cardinals cruised past the Camels with seven, 3-0 sweeps and two, 3-1 wins as they improved to 8-4 in dual-matches this season.
  • At the top of the lineup, Guy Davidson '16 claimed the No. 1 position with wins of 11-3, 11-2, 11-3. Raheem Logan '16 took the No. 2 spot (11-8, 11-6, 11-5) and Chris Hart '17 earned a 3-1 win on the No. 3 court (11-6, 9-11, 11-3, 12-10).
  • In the middle of the lineup, Wesleyan earned 3-0 wins from Alex Kamisher '17 and David Sneed '17. Kamisher claimed the No. 4 position by scores of 11-7, 12-10, 11-2, and Sneed earned a victory in the No. 5 spot with scores of 11-8, 11-9, 11-5. Zach Roach '17 dropped the first set on the No. 6 court but retaliated with wins of 11-3, 11-3, 11-9.
  • Grant Lounsbury '17, Yahya Ladiwala '19 and Jason Brandner '16 each swept their opponents from courts No. 7, 8 and 9, respectively.
  • Alex Bakes '16 also earned a 3-0 sweep in an exhibition match.

UP NEXT

  • The Cardinals will square off against third-seeded Bates tomorrow at 10:30 a.m.
  • Conn. College drops into the consolation round and will play No. 9 Tufts at 10 a.m. at the Rosenbaum Squash Center, hosted by Wesleyan.
