Men’s Squash Cruises to 9-0 Sweeps Over Vassar and Tufts

MIDDLETOWN, Conn. – The 19th-ranked Wesleyan University men's squash team earned two 9-0 sweeps Saturday afternoon at the Rosenbaum Squash Center as it cruised past No. 33 Vassar College and No. 28 Tufts University. The Cardinals are now 12-5 overall this season in dual-matches.

VASSAR HIGHLIGHTS

  • Wesleyan earned 3-0 sweeps in all nine matches against Vassar.
  • The top of the lineup featured wins from Guy Davidson '16 in the No. 1 position (11-3, 11-5, 11-5), Raheem Logan '16 in the No. 2 spot (11-3, 11-4, 11-2), and David Sneed '17 in the No. 3 position (11-3, 11-1, 11-1).
  • Zach Roach '17, Grant Lounsbury '17 and Jason Brandner '16 took the No. 4, 5 and 6 positions, respectively. Roach won by scores of 11-6, 11-4, 11-1, Lounsbury earned wins of 11-4, 11-4, 11-3, and Brandner grabbed victories by scores of 11-1, 11-0, 11-4.
  • In the bottom of the lineup, Alex Bakes '16 took the No. 7 spot (11-2, 11-3, 11-0), Kevin Le '19 claimed the No. 8 position (11-3, 11-4, 11-2), and Josh Lane '19 took the No. 9 court (11-3, 11-1, 11-3).

TUFTS HIGHLIGHTS

  • The Cardinals followed up with another stellar performance against the Jumbos as they swept each position once again.
  • Davidson and Logan earned 3-0 wins from the No. 1 (11-3, 11-3, 11-7) and No. 2 (11-9, 11-4, 11-9) positions, respectively, while Chris Hart '17 claimed the No. 3 position (11-8, 11-6, 12-10).
  • In the middle of the lineup, Alex Kamisher '17 took the No. 4 spot (11-6, 11-6, 11-9), Sneed claimed the No. 5 court (11-7, 11-2, 11-6) and Roach earned a win from the No. 6 position (11-5, 11-5, 11-8).
  • Rounding out the day for Wesleyan were Lounsbury, Brandner and Yahya Ladiwala '19 in the bottom of the lineup. Lounsbury took the No. 7 spot (11-7, 11-4, 11-8), Brandner claimed the No. 8 position (11-2, 11-0, 11-3) and Ladiwala took the No. 9 spot (11-7, 11-4, 12-10).
