Men’s Squash Edged by No. 20 Virginia in Summers Cup, 6-3

NEW HAVEN, Conn. – The 19th-ranked Wesleyan University men's squash team lost to No. 20 University of Virginia, 6-3, in the 2016 CSA National Team Championships Summers Cup (C Division) Sunday at Yale University.

MATCH HIGHLIGHTS

  • Guy Davidson '16, David Sneed '17 and Grant Lounsbury '17 scored Wesleyan's three wins.
  • Davidson claimed a 3-1 victory from the No. 1 position. He defeated Mason Blake by scores of 11-7, 10-12, 11-2, 11-6.
  • In the No. 5 spot, Sneed cruised to a 3-0 sweep over Stewart Staunton with marks of 11-9, 11-3, 11-4.
  • Lounsbury edged Maxwell Novick in the No. 7 position, 3-2. Both players exchanged wins as the junior took the match by scores of 11-7, 8-11, 12-10, 10-12, 11-6.
