Men's Squash Loses to Colby at NESCAC Championships, 8-1

CLINTON, N.Y. – In its first match at the 2018 NESCAC Championships hosted by Hamilton College, the Wesleyan University men's squash team fell 8-1 to Colby on Friday afternoon. It was the second 8-1 loss to sixth-seeded Colby this season for Wesleyan, who is seeded eleventh in the tournament.

MATCH HIGHLIGHTS: 

  • Sean Choi '21 was as scrappy and relentless as usual, battling hard in a hard-fought five-game win at No. 1. The freshman never wavered and despite being a point from losing, he eventually prevailed 6-11, 11-7, 9-11, 11-6, 13-11.
  • Junior Josh Lane played very well in defeat at No. 4, making a strong comeback and coming close to extending the match to five games before going down 11-5, 11-4, 9-11, 11-9.

UP NEXT:

  • The Cardinals will move into the consolation round robin bracket with their loss, with matches tomorrow being held at nearby Colgate University. Their first match is scheduled for 12:00 p.m. tomorrow against either Bowdoin or Tufts.
