Cardinals Win Third Straight, Defeat George Fox, 8-1

RIVERSIDE, Calif. – The 23rd-ranked Wesleyan University men's tennis team cruised to a commanding 8-1 win over George Fox University Saturday at Riverside City College.

Wesleyan: 3-2

SINGLES RESULTS

  • Wesleyan won five of six matches in singles play.
  • Michael Liu '17 claimed No. 1 singles by scores of 6-2, 6-0.
  • Steven Chen '18 and Tiago Eusebio '18 earned wins on the No. 2 and No. 3 courts, respectively, by scores of 6-1, 6-2 and 7-5, 6-3.
  • In No. 4 singles, Jake Roberts '17 won 6-3, 6-1, and Cameron Daniels '18 cruised to a decisive victory in No. 5 singles. The sophomore won 6-1, 6-0.

DOUBLES RESULTS

  • The Cardinals swept doubles action.
  • Chen and Liu earned a decisive 8-1 win in No. 1 doubles.
  • Greg Lyon '17 and Zack Brint '18 edged out Nicholas Grafton and Vincent Viloria in No. 2 doubles, 9-7.
  • In No. 3 doubles, Joachim Samson '19 and Sam Rudovsky '16 cruised to an 8-1 win as well.
