Chen earned his second consecutive First Team singles honor, and the third all-conference selection of his career. He qualified for the NCAA Division III Individual Championships for the second year in a row as well, which begin May 25 in Chattanooga, Tenn.
Liu earned his third all-conference honor of his career as well, and was named a Second Team selection in both singles and doubles play. The senior was also named the Clarence Chaffee Sportsmanship Award winner for the second consecutive season, and remains the only Cardinal to receive the honor. The award is given annually to the individual who best combined and displayed a high standard of tennis coupled with the highest levels of sportsmanship. On the court, Liu post a 9-7 singles record in dual-match play, playing primarily from the No. 2 spot.
His doubles partner, classmate Jake Roberts, picked up his first all-conference selection of his career. The duo posted a 10-8 record in No. 1 doubles, and were named alternates for the NCAA Individual Championships.
The trio have helped guide Wesleyan to its best season in program history, as the Cardinals (15-3) look to continue their success beginning Monday, May 22 in the quarterfinals against No. 3 Claremont-Mudd-Scripps. The match is scheduled to start at 4:30 p.m.
