Men’s Track & Field Places Fourth at the Tufts Snowflake Classic

MEDFORD, Mass. – Junior Andrew McCracken of the Wesleyan University men's track & field team finished first overall in the pole vault with a mark of 4.25 meters, as the Cardinals compiled six top-three performances on the individual side during a fourth-place team finish out of 20 at the Tufts Snowflake Classic on Saturday.  

Tufts earned first-place recognition with a team score of 153, while WPI (119) and Bridgewater State (70) rounded out the top-three. Wesleyan finished with a total of 56, which cleared fifth-place Westfield State by six points.

During the 5,000m run, sophomore Kevin McMorrow finished in the second slot with a time of 15:21.37, and sophomore Conner Sexton checked in right behind in the third slot, clocking a time of 15:21.61. Senior Connor Cobb, who is originally from Falmouth, Mass., also registered an excellent performance in the event with a time of 15:29.40, which was good for sixth overall out of 55 runners.

Freshman Kevin DeLoughry was the team's first-place performer in the 400m hurdles, earning a runner-up performance (56.00) among a field of 26 competitors, while freshman Kyron Roberts compiled a mark of 1:58.99 during the 800m, putting him in the third slot.

In the 10,000m, the Cardinals compiled a pair of top-nine finishes, as seniors Tate Knight (32:09.33) and John Henry Vansant (33:07.17) finished in the third and ninth slots, respectively.

Wesleyan will take its talents to the Amherst Spring Fling on Saturday at Amherst College.
