MIDDLETOWN, Conn. – Three members of the Wesleyan University track & field teams were recently named 2018 NCAA Division III Outdoor Track & Field All-Region honorees by the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA). Kevin DeLoughry '21 represented the men's team while Sara Pinsonault '20 and Emma Trapani '21 represented the women's squad.
To be recognized as an All-Region honoree, an individual must have placed in the top-5 in their event in their respective region.
DeLoughry finished fourth overall in New England in the 400-meter hurdles. The freshman recorded the fourth-fastest time in the region by posting a school record mark of 54.13 at the New England Division III Outdoor Championship hosted by MIT. His time was good for third overall at the meet.
Pinsonault and Trapani both placed fifth overall in the 3,000m steeplechase and the 10,000m run, respectively. Pinsonault finished fifth at the NEICAAA New England Outdoor Championship hosted by Dartmouth with a school record time of 10:59.68. It was the fourth time this season that the sophomore broke the school record in that event. Trapani had the fifth-fastest time in the 10,000m run with a mark of 38:12.10 at the NEICAAA Championship. She finished seventh overall and second among Division III runners, with five Division I athletes ahead of her.
