MIDDLETOWN, Conn. – Senior Will Dudek of the Wesleyan University men's cross country team was named an individual qualifier for the 2016 NCAA Division III Men's Cross Country Championships.
Fifty-six individuals, the first seven student-athletes from each region who are not a part of a qualifying team, were selected to participate in each championships.
Dudek qualified for the national postseason race after placing eighth in the NCAA Division III Regional Qualifier yesterday with a time of 24:55.34 in the 8k run. The race featured 384 runners, as Dudek guided Wesleyan to a 12th-place finish out of 56 schools.
The senior joins Tim Nichols and Luke O'Connor of Tufts, David Chelimo of Colby, Nichols Walker of Bowdoin, Ryan Stender of Brandeis and Daniel McSolla of Wentworth as the seven qualifiers from the New England region.
Spalding University and the Louisville Sports Commission are hosting the championships November 19 at E.P. "Tom" Sawyer State Park in Louisville, Kentucky. The women's race will begin at 11 a.m. ET, followed by the men's race at 12 p.m. ET.
