MIDDLETOWN, Conn. – Dual-sport athlete Rachel Aronow '17 of the Wesleyan University women's ice hockey and women's lacrosse teams, and Tara Berger '19 of the women's basketball team, were recognized by the Jewish Sports Review in their May/June 2017 issue and were named to the All-America Teams for women's ice hockey and women's basketball, respectively.
The 2016-17 All-America Teams comprise of Jewish athletes from all divisions.
Aronow was honored for her play on the ice, as the senior forward capped off her final season in a Wesleyan uniform with five points on three goals and two assists in 24 games played. The West Hartford, Conn. native helped guide the Cardinals to their first NESCAC Tournament appearance since 2013-14.
Berger excelled in her second season with the women's basketball team. The 6-1 forward from Purchase, N.Y. started all 22 games for Wesleyan and averaged 28.3 minutes per game. She led the team in rebounding (8.5 rpg) and blocks (1.4 bpg), while finishing second in scoring (10.2 ppg) and third in steals (1.1 spg). She also dished out 1.0 assists per game.
