MIDDLETOWN, Conn. – Senior forward Maddie Bledsoe of the Wesleyan University women's basketball team has been selected to play in the New England Women's Basketball Association (NEWBA) Senior All-Star Classic, which will take place on Saturday, March 24 at 1 p.m. and will be held at Ainsworth Gymnasium at Smith College in Northampton, Mass.
Bledsoe joins 20 other seniors from New England and is the lone NESCAC representative. The Newton, Mass. native had a breakout senior campaign in which she was named a Second Team All-NESCAC selection. Bledsoe averaged a double-double with 10.4 points and 10.6 rebounds per game. She also shot 40.4-percent from 3-point range and 48.3-percent from the floor. Bledsoe led the highly competitive NESCAC in rebounding all season, by a large margin, and recorded eight double-doubles in 25 games.
The senior helped guide Wesleyan to a 17-8 overall record and a 5-5 conference mark. The Cardinals secured the No. 5 seed in the NESCAC Championships and defeated fourth-seeded Middlebury to reach the semifinals.
