SARATOGA SPRINGS, N.Y. – The Wesleyan women's crew Varsity 8 placed third of 21 teams at Head of the Fish on Saturday. The women's team was able to compete in several events, but as the day went on, conditions worsened and all afternoon competitions were cancelled.
Today's regatta marked the final race of the fall campaign for the Cardinals, who will return to the water in the spring.
- The Varsity 8 boat cruised to a third place finish with a time of 11:25, just 10 seconds behind first-place Marist. The boat included Nicole Rizzuto (Coxswain), Allison Quintana,Rachelle Flowers, Lydia Paddock, Hannah Xu, Olivia Pearson, Sarah Osborn, Monica Rao and Emma Porrazzo.
- Two boats raced in the 2V8+ event, with the second varsity eight placing third of 18 with a time of 12:03. The third varsity eight came in 13th, clocking in at 13:23, and was in the top-three for third varsity eight boats.
- The 2V8 boat included Nikki Pallat (Coxswain), Mackenzie Wiley, Sophie Townsend, Sonja Welch, Eva Phelps, Eleanor Highleyman, Kai Burton, Sarah Paulson and Josephine Roudebush. The third varsity eight included Emily Frazer-Abel (Coxswain), Sam Hill, Liana Biasucci, Francesca Myhrvold, Annabelle Lesser and Meghan Heffernan.
