MIDDLETOWN, Conn. – On Saturday, January 28th, the Wesleyan University women's ice hockey team will host a 'Pink in the Rink' game when it hosts Bowdoin College at 3 p.m. The Cardinals will also host an alumnae game in the morning.
The women's ice hockey team launched the Joan B. Kilar Fund to join the fight against breast cancer. The Fund is in honor of the mother of Jackie Kilar '19, who lost her battle with breast cancer almost three years ago. The team has partnered with the Community Foundation of Middlesex County to benefit The Middlesex Hospital Cancer Center to raise money, awareness, and target team volunteer efforts to their local community burdened by the disease. The team hopes its impact will be meaningful and long lasting, and they intend to stay in the fight for years to come.
