    Cardinals Claim Third Place at Scott Viera Invite; Carrillo Wins at 197 The Wesleyan University wrestling team, led by Devon Carrillo ’17, claimed third place at the Scott Viera Invitational Saturday with 92 points. Carrillo was crowned the 197-pound champion with a 13-6 decision over Cody Carrillo of Plymouth State in the finals, to finish a perfect 3-0 on the day

The Cardinals totaled 94 points, as James Matias ’19 highlighted the day with a second place finish in the 141-pound bracket.

    2016-17 Wesleyan Wrestling Season Preview The Wesleyan University wrestling team opens its 2016 season Saturday, Nov. 12 at 10 a.m. as the Cardinals head to Roger Williams University for a 12-team tournament featuring four, top-10 nationally ranked teams – No. 2 Messiah College, No. 5 Stevens Institute of Technology, No. 8 Roger Williams and No. 10 York College.
