No. 23 Wesleyan Falls to No. 17 Bowdoin, 6-3

MIDDLETOWN, Conn. - The 23rd-ranked Wesleyan University women's squash team fell to No. 17 Bowdoin College, 6-3 Friday night at the Rosenbaum Squash Center.

MATCH HIGHLIGHTS

  • The Cardinals picked up wins from the No. 1, 6 and 7 courts.
  • Laila Samy '18 defeated Sarah Nelson from the top spot with a 3-0 sweep. She won by scores of 11-4, 11-0, 11-3.
  • Alexandra Imperiale '19 picked up a clean sweep from the No. 6 position as she defeated Mariela Mendoza. Imperiale won by scores of 11-8, 12-10, 11-4.
  • Annie Ferreira '17 claimed another sweep in the No. 7 spot, as she defeated Natalie Laplant by scores of 11-5, 11-2, 11-8.

UP NEXT

  • Wesleyan is back in action tomorrow, Saturday, Jan. 23 and will host Hamilton College at 3 p.m.
  • The Polar Bears are back in action tomorrow as well and will play Hamilton at Wesleyan. The match is scheduled for 12 p.m.
