AMHERST, Mass. – Top-seeded Trinity and second-seeded Williams are primed to face off for the NESCAC Championship on Sunday, February 5 at 3 p.m. following the second day of action at the 2017 NESCAC Women's Squash Championship at the Davenport Squash Courts on the campus of Amherst College.

Trinity and Williams will play for the 2017 NESCAC Championship title for the third straight year, while Bates will take on Middlebury at 1 p.m. to decide the third and fourth place finisher.
The higher seeds prevailed in each quarterfinal matchup to set the scene the semifinals. No. 3 Middlebury, No. 2 Williams, and No. 1 Trinity each logged 9-0 sweeps, downing No. 6 Tufts, No. 7 Bowdoin, and No. 9 Colby, respectively. Fourth-seeded Bates posted a 7-2 win over No. 5 Amherst to round out the quarterfinal matches.
In the first semifinal match, the Bantams recorded a 9-0 victory over the Bobcats. Trinity's only set loss of the match came on the first court. In the second semifinal contest, No. 2 Williams came away with an 8-1 win against No. 3 Middlebury.
In the 5th place playoff consolation bracket, fifth-seeded Amherst topped No. 9 Colby, 6-3, while No. 7 Bowdoin upset No. 6 Tufts, 5-4, behind wins on the first five slots of the ladder. Amherst will face Bowdoin to determine 5th and 6th place, while Colby and Tufts vie for 7th and 8th overall. Both matches are scheduled to begin at 9 a.m. at the Davenport Squash Courts at Amherst.
Squaring off in the round robin consolation bracket, No. 8 Wesleyan secured 9th place overall, defeating No. 10 Hamilton, 5-4, and No. 11 Connecticut College, 9-0. Hamilton, the tenth-seed, concluded tournament play with a 10th place finish after downing Connecticut College, 7-2.
