Cardinals Cruise to 9-0 Sweep Over Mount Holyoke

MIDDLETOWN, Conn. — Less than 48 hours after returning from a training trip in Northern California, the Wesleyan University women's squash team took down Mount Holyoke College at the Rosenbaum Squash Center on Friday afternoon, sweeping the Lyons 9-0 in comprehensive victory. The 20th-ranked Cardinals move to 4-3 with the win while No. 27 Mount Holyoke drops to 4-2.

MATCH HIGHLIGHTS:

  • All-American Laila Samy '18 continued her undefeated run this year, topping Brandy Williamson 11-5, 11-3, 11-1 at the No. 1 position.
  • Tatum LeClair '18 started out in total control but had to fend off a spirited comeback attempt in her win over Tanishka Sachidanand at No. 6. The Wesleyan senior was victorious 11-4, 11-8, 14-12.
  • Ali Imperiale '19 cruised at No. 8 for her first victory of the season in her second match, beating Emma Robson 11-4, 11-4, 11-6.
