CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – Senior Laila Samy completed an undefeated regular season on Sunday as the 21st-ranked Wesleyan University women's squash team took on the University of Virginia in a match played at MIT. Despite her victory at the top position, the Cardinals came up short and fell to the 16th-ranked Cavaliers, 8-1.

With the setback, Wesleyan finishes the regular season with an 8-8 record, while Virginia moves to 7-8 with the win, which was their second of the day. Earlier on Sunday, they upset No. 11 Williams—who beat Wesleyan yesterday—by a score of 5-4.

Samy completed her 16-0 regular season with a comfortable 11-2, 11-6, 11-9 win over Emily Woodworth at No. 1. At No. 2, freshman Aditi Prasad continued to play solid squash in defeat, going the distance against Carey Danforth. Prasad would come up just short, falling 6-11, 11-5, 10-12, 11-9, 11-5.
