Murphy and O’Halloran Qualify for NCAA Swimming & Diving Championships

MIDDLETOWN, Conn. – Freshmen Caroline Murphy and Hannah O'Halloran of the Wesleyan University women's swimming & diving team were selected to compete in the 2017 NCAA Division III Women's Swimming and Diving Championships, which will be held March 15-18 at the Conroe ISD Natatorium in Shenandoah, Texas. Additionally, Zoe Kerrich '18 was named as a third alternate for the 100 and 200-yard breaststroke events.

Murphy, who is enjoying a spectacular freshman campaign, became the first-ever member of the women's team to win a NESCAC Championship (50-yard backstroke). She also earned an All-Conference selection for her performance. The freshman will compete in the 100-yard backstroke, where she is seeded fourth overall with a time of 55.64.

O'Halloran, who like Murphy has excelled in her first year, will take part in the 200-yard backstroke. The freshman is ranked eighth overall with a season-high mark of 2:01.62.
