Kerrich Named CSCAA Scholar All-America Honorable Mention

NORFOLK, Va. – For the second year in a row, Zoe Kerrich '18 of the Wesleyan University women's swimming & diving team has been named a College Swimming and Diving Coaches Association of America (CSCAA) Scholar All-America Honorable Mention. In addition, both the men's and women's swimming & diving teams were named Scholar All-America teams.

To be selected to the CSCAA Scholar All-America Team, swimmers and divers must have achieved a grade point average of 3.50 or higher, and have participated in their respective NCAA/NAIA/NJCAA Swimming and Diving Championships. Honorable Mention selections have similarly achieved a GPA of 3.50 and achieved a "B" time standard or competed at their respective diving qualifying meets. The selections were drawn from 247 colleges and universities.

The honor marks the second for Kerrich, who excelled in both the pool and the classroom during her junior campaign. In the pool, Kerrich was named a third alternate for the 100 and 200-yard breaststroke at the 2017 NCAA Women's Swimming & Diving Championships. During the NESCAC Tournament, the junior recorded NCAA "B" qualifying marks in the 100 breaststroke (1:03.76), the 200 breaststroke (2:19.82), the 200 medley relay (1:45.60), the 400 freestyle relay (3:29.15), the 400 medley relay (3:49.43), and in the 100 free as the lead-off leg in the 400 free relay.

Additionally, the men's and women's teams excelled as a whole to garner academic team praise, as the men finished with a 3.40 team GPA and the women recorded a 3.59 team GPA.

To be selected as a CSCAA Scholar All-America Team, programs must have achieved a grade point average of 3.00 or higher over the Spring semester.
