Cooper of Women’s Swimming & Diving Puts Stamp on Extraordinary Season

MIDDLEBURY, Vt. – Junior diver Devon Cooper concluded her remarkable season on Saturday afternoon for the Wesleyan University women's swimming & diving team, as she placed 22nd overall in the 1-meter diving event during the NCAA Division III Zone Diving Qualifier at Middlebury College.

During second-day action in Middlebury, Vt., the Salinas, Calif. native compiled a score of 348.50 off the 1-meter board. During the 3-meter event on Friday, Cooper placed 15th out of 25 divers with a mark of 378.50.

Deborah Wen of MIT was the winner in the 3-meter event (458.25), and Blake Zhou of MIT was the first-place performer off the 1-meter board (440.50).

Cooper, who was making her first-ever appearance on the regional stage, set a school record during the 2018 NESCAC Championship, as she posted an outstanding score of 397.60 during a sixth-place finish in the championship final of the 1-meter event.
