The Lead: The No. 8 Wesleyan University women's tennis team opened its 2016-17 dual match season with a win Tuesday as it defeated No. 12 Carnegie Mellon in Claremont, Calif., 6-3.

DOUBLES HIGHLIGHTS:

SINGLES HIGHLIGHTS:

  • Wesleyan won singles play, 4-2, with wins in the No. 1, 2, 5 and 6 positions.
  • Chong and Yu claimed No. 1 and No. 2 singles, respectively, with wins of 6-0, 6-2 and 6-2, 6-3.
  • Nicole McCann '18 earned a win in No. 5 singles with scores of 6-3, 6-4, and Dasha Dubinsky '18 won a thriller in No. 6 singles, 6-4, 1-6, 7-6 (7-4).
