The Lead: The sixth-ranked Wesleyan University women's tennis team held a 2-1 advantage after doubles play, but fell to No. 3 Middlebury College in a tough NESCAC matchup on the road Sunday, 6-3.

DOUBLES HIGHLIGHTS:

  • The fourth-ranked doubles duo in the country, Eudice Chong '18 and Victoria Yu '19, cruised to an 8-2 win in the No. 1 spot against Katherine Hughes and Skylar Schossberger.
  • In No. 3 doubles, Helen Klass-Warch '18 and Nicole McCann '18 earned an 8-3 win over Alexendra Fields and Christina Puccinelli.

SINGLES HIGHLIGHTS:

  • The Cardinals picked up just one win in singles play as Chong cruised to wins of 6-3, 6-1 over Fields in the No. 1 position.

UP NEXT:

  • Wesleyan returns to play Saturday, April 29 for its 2016-17 regular season finale at Bates. The match is scheduled to start at 10 a.m.
