ROME, Ga. – The Wesleyan University women's tennis duo of Eudice Chong '18 and Victoria Yu '19 continues to dominate, as Chong claimed the singles title at the 2017 Division III ITA Oracle Cup as well as the doubles crown alongside Yu on Saturday at Berry College.
Chong—the defending three-time NCAA singles champion and the top-seed in the singles bracket—defeated Ysabel Gonzalez Rico of Emory 7-6(4), 6-2.
Later in the day, she paired up with Yu for a chance to win the doubles title, where she met Gonzalez Rico once again as well as Bridget Harding. Chong and Yu—the defending NCAA doubles champions and top-seed in the bracket—won convincingly against the third-seed by scores of 6-1, 6-1.
Chong and Yu weren't finished, however, and later defeated the doubles champions from the NAIA, Megan Bianco and Daniela Farfan of Keiser University, by marks of 6-1, 6-2. With the win, they advance to the ITA Oracle Cup Super Bowl Final tomorrow at 8:30 a.m. against Hanna Volikova and Alina Tislitskaya of Division II University of Indianapolis. The winner earns a berth to the ITA Division I Oracle ITA National Championships on Nov. 1-5 in Palm Desert, Calif.
