CLAREMONT, Calif. – After compiling a 25-2 record in singles and a 31-2 mark in doubles during the 2017-18 season, senior Eudice Chong of the No. 5-ranked Wesleyan University women's tennis team earned ITA National Senior Player of the Year honors on Wednesday evening from the Intercollegiate Tennis Association at the NCAA Banquet in Claremont, Calif.
Chong, who hails from Sai Kung, Hong Kong, is focused on capturing her fourth consecutive singles titles among a field of 32 competitors at the NCAA Division III Individual Championships, hosted by Claremont-Mudd-Scripps on Thursday-Saturday at the Biszantz Family Tennis Center.
During her highlight-filled career, Chong has boasted an incredible 96-4 overall record in singles competition, including a 22-0 mark as as rookie. During her senior campaign, the superb athlete went undefeated against Division III players.
Chong has additionally formed an elite tandem with junior Victoria Yu in doubles, as the dynamic duo posted a 31-2 record in doubles action together this season. The two players will look to defend their doubles championship among the 16-team bracket at the Individual Championships on Thursday-Saturday.
Chong's storied collegiate run, includes being a three-time NESCAC Player of the Year, the Rookie of the Year in 2015 and a four-time All-Conference First Team selection.
