    After four consecutive wins against top-30 programs to open the season, the seventh-ranked Wesleyan women’s tennis team saw its win streak come to an end Friday as the Cardinals were defeated by No. 1 Emory, 7-2.
  • No. 7 Wesleyan Wins Fourth-Straight, Defeats No. 10 Carnegie Mellon, 6-3

    No. 7 Wesleyan women’s tennis won its fourth match in four days as the Cardinals defeated No. 10 Carnegie Mellon on Wednesday night, 6-3. With the win, Wesleyan improved to 4-0 on the year, while the Tartans fell to 9-5.
  • Women's Tennis Wins Third-Straight, Sweeps No. 29 Case Western Reserve

    Wesleyan women’s tennis cruised to a 9-0 sweep over No. 29 Case Western Reserve on Tuesday afternoon at Sanlando Park. With the win, the seventh-ranked Cardinals improved to 3-0 on the year, while the Spartans dropped to 4-3.

    The seventh-ranked Wesleyan women’s tennis team cruised to a 9-0 win over No. 12 Washington (Mo.) on Monday afternoon on day two of its Spring Break trip at the USTA National Campus in Orlando, Florida.
  • No. 7 Women's Tennis Wins Spring-Opener, Defeats No. 21 Kenyon 6-3

    The seventh-ranked Wesleyan women’s tennis team opened its 2019 spring season today in Florida and defeated No. 21 Kenyon College, 6-3. Sunday’s match was the first of five that will be played during Spring Break this weekend.

    Wesleyan wrapped up play at the ITA Cup on Saturday, where freshman Venia Yeung secured a third place finish in singles and Victoria and Kristina Yu won their match to finish fifth at the national championships.

  • Cardinals Continue to Shine at Tufts Invitational

    Wesleyan’s freshmen continued to impress in their first college event on Day 2 of the Tufts Invitational, where the Cardinals still have plenty of players alive going into the final day tomorrow. Freshman Kristina Yu has not yet lost a match, advancing to tomorrow’s singles semifinals and doubles final alongside her sister Victoria. Yu’s semifinal opponent will be fellow first-year Venia Yeung, who will also be competing in the doubles backdraw final with sophomore Polina Kiseleva.

    Wesleyan’s women’s tennis team began its season on Friday at the Tufts Invitational, putting on display for the first time a very new-look roster, with four newcomers in to fill the void left from last year’s graduating seniors, who helped lead the team the NCAA Elite 8 in May, the program’s best finish in history.

    The Wesleyan University women’s tennis team is coming off its best season in program history, in which the Cardinals posted a 14-4 overall record and 7-2 mark in the ultra-competitive NESCAC. Additionally, Wesleyan reached the quarterfinals of the NCAA Division III Championships for the first time ever and finished the year ranked No. 5 in the country.
