Women's Track and Field Excels at the Wesleyan Invitational

The Lead: Jenny Aguiar '19 won two events as the Wesleyan University women's track and field team participated in the Wesleyan Invitational.

TRACK HIGHLIGHTS:

  • Aguiar crossed the line in first place in the 200-meter dash with her time of 26.58. She also won the 400-meter dash with a time of 58.38.
  • Alex Dibrindisi '19 finished the 200-meter dash in fourth with a time of 27.15. She finished the 400-meter dash in sixth with a time of 1:00.24.
  • In the 800-meter run, Nikita Rajgopal '17 finished fourth with a time 2:27.22. Isabella Reilly '19 finished in sixth with a time of 2:29.16.
  • In the mile run, Julia Mitchell '19 finished in fourth with a time of 5:25.47. 

FIELD HIGHLIGHTS:

  • Katie Maehl '19 finished fourth in the high jump, clearing 1.52m.
  • In the pole vault, the Cardinals claimed 3-5 with Casey Rothschild '20 (3.05m), Colleen O'Neil (2.90m) and Tara Peng '20 (2.90m).
  • Rothschild finished the triple jump in second place with a mark of 10.95m.
  • In the weight throw, Caroline Diemer '18 finished in ninth with a throw of 12.44m. 

UP NEXT:

  • The Cardinals will return to the track on Saturday, February 11th in the MIT Invitational.
