BOSTON, Mass. – Sophomore Ivie Uzamere was crowned the 2019 NCAA Division III Indoor Champion in the weight throw after placing first with a personal best mark of 19.36m. With the mark, Uzamere is just the fourth track & field athlete to win a National Championship and first ever in a field event. Her winning mark also shattered her own school record (17.45m) that she set back in 2018. The last National Champion was Ellen Davis '07 who won the indoor 5k in 2007.

Jenny Aguiar placed sixth in the 400m with a time of 57.39 and will race in the finals on Saturday at 3:30 p.m. Rhoen Fiutak placed 11th in the mile with a time of 5:05.34, while Julia Mitchell raced to an 18th-place finish in the 3,000m, crossing the finish line in a personal best time of 10:10.23. Andrew McCracken finished 13th in the pole vault with a mark of 4.60m, while Katie Maehl came in 18th in the pentathlon, compiling 3,129 points over the five events.
