Women's Cross Country Competes at Little Three Championship

The Lead: The Wesleyan University women's cross country competed against Williams and Amherst in the Little Three Championship on Saturday afternoon, and the Cardinals runners had a strong performance overall in the 5k race. 

HOW IT HAPPENED:

  • Senior Caroline Elmendorf finished just outside the top ten, as her time of 19:06.40 was good enough for 11th place overall. Her time sets a personal record for her on the home course. 
  • Teammate Molly Schassberger '17 came in right behind Elmendorf in 12th with a mark of 19:11.70, and her time also set a personal record on the Wes Fuhrman Trails. 
  • Sophomore Rhoen Fiutak finished the 6k race with a mark of 19:28.00.
  • Morgan Findley '18, Carina Flaherty '19, and Hannah Gillis '20 came in with times of 19:56.80, 20:07.90 and 20:14.40 respectively.
  • Joie Akerson '17 completed the race with a mark of 20:16.50 

UP NEXT:

  • The Cardinals will return to the track on Saturday, October 29th as they will compete at the NESCAC Championships at Colby College in Waterville, Maine. The race is scheduled to begin at 1 p.m.
