Scott Bushey enters his first year as an assistant coach for the men’s and women’s cross country programs at Wesleyan in 2017.
A 2015 graduate of Springfield College, Bushey earned a Bachelor of Science in sport management, and a minor in coaching and business. He was on the cross country and track & field teams all four years, earning Academic All-American, and New England Women’s and Men’s Athletic Conference All-Academic Team honors every year.
Bushey earned a master’s degree in athletic administration from Springfield in 2017, while maintaining a 3.95 GPA.
The Hebron, Conn., native was a graduate assistant coach for the cross country and track & field squads at Springfield from 2015-17, as he planned practices and assisted in the recruiting process. He also served as a head coach of a U15 AAU basketball team at the Northeast Basketball Club from 2012-14 in Hebron.
Bushey’s passion for sports is well reflected on his resume, as he worked as a business operations intern at AIC (2017) and an athletics intern at Eastern Connecticut State (2016). In addition, his experience includes serving as a tournament operations intern for Cal Ripken Baseball (2015), a team attendant for the Connecticut Sun (2007-14), an intern for the Springfield Armor (2013) and a team liaison for the Hoophall Classic, a four-day high school basketball event at Springfield (2012).
