Men’s and Women’s Cross Country Teams Garner All-Academic Team Honors; Six Earn Individual Praise The Wesleyan University men's and women's cross country teams have received 2016 All-Academic Team honors, as announced by the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA), while Will Dudek '17 and Tate Knight ’18 of the men’s team, and Caroline Elmendorf ’17, Rhoen Fiutak ’19, Julia Mitchell ’19 and Molly Schassberger '17 of the women’s team garnered All-Academic Individual praise. Women's Cross Country Finishes 10th at New England Regionals The Wesleyan University women's cross country team finished 10th overall at the 2016 NCAA Division III New England Regional Championships on Saturday morning. The 10th place finish was the highest for the Cardinals since 2012. Full Story
Cardinals Compete at NESCAC Championship The Wesleyan University women’s cross country team finished in 7th place at the NESCAC Championship, which was held at Colby College. September 16, 2016 Women's Cross Country Cardinals Claim First Place at Wesleyan Invitational The Wesleyan University women’s cross country team opened up their 2016 season with a first place showing at the Wesleyan Invitational. The Cardinals claimed four out of the top five spots.
September 14, 2016 Women's Cross Country Women’s Cross Country Team Gears Up for 2016 Season The Wesleyan University Women’s Cross Country team returns a strong core of runners who will look to lead the team to a NCAA Division III Championship appearance in 2016. The Cardinals, who finished 13th at the New England Championships last season, return six seniors, two juniors and four sophomores. They will be joined by three freshmen – Hannah Gillis, Sara Pinsonault and Rosie Skovron – who will look to make an immediate impact.
November 14, 2015 Women's Cross Country Cardinals Runners Excel at New England Cross Country Championships On Saturday, November 14th, the Wesleyan cross country team competed in the New England Regional championships. Connecticut College hosted the meet, which took place at Harkness Park in Waterford, CT. The park sits right on the Long Island Sound, and the runners could feel the strong winds off the water on much of the course. With clear skies and temperatures in the mid-40’s, it wasn’t a bad day for a November cross country meet.
November 8, 2015 Women's Cross Country Wesleyan Cross Country Teams Compete In ECAC Championships A small group of Wesleyan cross country runners traveled to Williamstown, MA on Saturday, November 7th, for the ECAC Championships. The NESCAC schools, including Wesleyan, generally rest their top seven runners this weekend and send their sub-varsity teams to compete at ECAC’s, but most other schools send their varsity squads. It was a breezy, overcast morning at Mount Greylock high school, with temperatures in the 50’s.
October 31, 2015 Women's Cross Country Wesleyan Hosts NESCAC Cross Country Championships Wesleyan University hosted the 2015 NESCAC Cross Country Championships on Saturday, October 31. After such a dry fall, the home course at Long Lane Farm was in great shape, and the runners were welcomed with clear skies, temperatures in the 50's, and very little wind. As usual, the race for the conference title would be extremely competitive, with multiple nationally ranked teams competing. The women's race included national #2 Williams, #4 Tufts, and #7 Middlebury, while the men's race included #2 Williams, #5 Amherst, #19 Bates, #29 Wesleyan, and #31 Tufts.
