Bacon Field House

The Bacon Field House, named for C. Everett Bacon '13, an All-American quarterback at Wesleyan, houses a 200-meter, six-lane track as its main component. The infield area allows for numerous activities, including the use of four tennis courts, three basketball courts, six volleyball courts or six badminton courts. The facility is integral for providing Wesleyan spring sports teams with an indoor opportunity to practice in February and March, in conjunction with two artificial surfaced outdoor fields, before the outdoor grass fields are ready for use. In the case of inclement weather, it is used as Wesleyan's home tennis courts. It houses four courts, side-by-side, so that all three doubles matches can be played simultaneously and just two courts need to be turned over to complete the six singles matches. The Bacon Field House has been the site of many regional and national track meets as well, including the 1991 NCAA Division III Indoor Track Championships, and it has also served as the site for some of Wesleyan's home wrestling matches. The Cardinals hosted the 2002 NECCWA Duals and had seven mats in the Field House for the event. In 2014, Wesleyan was the site of the Northeast Regional Wrestling Tournament with the top three finishers in each weight class qualifying for the NCAA Division III Championships.
