MIDDLETOWN, Conn. – The Wesleyan University men's and women's track & field teams were both recognized by the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) today as the Cardinals were named 2018 All-Academic Teams. Additionally, a total of nine Wesleyan student-athletes were named All-Academic Individuals.
In order to be named an All-Academic Team, a program must have a cumulative team GPA of at least a 3.1 on a 4.0 scale. The men's program posted a team GPA of 3.41 and the women recorded a GPA of 3.63.
Individually, Kevin DeLoughry '21 and Andrew McCracken '19 earned All-Academic honors on the men's side while Jenny Aguiar '19, Alex Dibrindisi '19, Becky Lopez-Anido '21, Julia Mitchell '19, Sara Pinsonault '20, Ananya Subrahmanian '18 and Ivie Uzamere '21 were honored from the women's team.
In order to qualify for USTFCCCA All-Academic honors, a student-athlete must have compiled a cumulative GPA of 3.30 or higher and have met at least one of the following athletic standards: competed in an NCAA Indoor or Outdoor Championship, finished the regular season ranked in the national top-50 in an individual event or ranked in the national top-35 in a relay event on the official NCAA Descending Order List.
