Ali Paquette Honored by CoSIDA with National Feature Story of the Year Award

MIDDLETOWN, Conn. – Athletic Communications Assistant Ali Paquette of Wesleyan University was honored by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) for her 'We Are Wes' feature story on Cardinals' superfan Brian O'Rourke of O'Rourke's Diner in Middletown. Paquette's piece was chosen as the national winner of the general feature story category in CoSIDA's Fred Stabley, Sr. Writing Contest.

The writing contest committee picked the best regional and national stories from the six Districts in Division I, II, and III, and choose from seven categories; athlete profile, coach/admin/historical feature, event coverage, general feature, story with video, and season recap/preview. Paquette's feature, titled "We Are Wes – Feature I – Brian O'Rourke", was named the top general feature story in the country out of nearly 400 entries.

The story was the first of the 'We Are Wes' feature series created by Paquette, which also featured Wesleyan alum Jonas Powell M'19, '18 for his excellent photo coverage, and former Wesleyan Vice President of University Relations Barabara-Jan Wilson for her support of Athletics.
