Tim Sestak & Victoria Yu Honored by CoSIDA with Academic All-America Accolades

AUSTIN, Texas – Tim Sestak '20 of the Wesleyan men's ice hockey team and Victoria Yu '19 of the women's tennis team were earned Google Cloud Academic All-America honors as selected by the College of Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA). The Academic All-American At-Large Teams recognize the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances in athletics and in the classroom.

Junior goaltender Sestak is majoring in Molecular Biology & Biochemistry and maintained a 3.85 GPA this year. He had a phenomenal season in goal for the Cardinals, where he earned All-American Honors, was named a NEHWA Division III All-Star, was tabbed NESCAC Player of the Year and was a finalist for the prestigious Joe Concannon Award. Sestak led the conference in save percentage (.946), while ranking second in goals against average (1.65), and finished the season ranked third in DII/DIII save percentage and shutouts (seven). He eclipsed the 1,000th career-save this season and was also named the NCAA Division III Statistical Champion for save percentage.

Yu, a Chemistry, Molecular Biology & Biochemistry major, graduated with a 3.98 GPA this year en route to her second Academic All-America honor. A National Champion and eight-time All-American, Yu was a part of the 2019 National Championship team, was named the 2019 ITA Senior of the Year and was selected to the 2019 All-NESCAC First Team for singles and doubles. She concluded her career as one of the most decorated Cardinals in program history, recording the second most singles wins in Wesleyan history with 80.
