The Lead: The 24th-ranked Wesleyan University women's squash team edged NESCAC foe and 18th-ranked Bowdoin College Wednesday afternoon, 5-4.
HIGHLIGHTS:
- The Cardinals claimed the No. 1 position, as well as the No. 6-9 spots.
- At the top of the lineup, Laila Samy '18 earned a 3-0 sweep over Sarah Nelson with wins of 11-8, 11-1 and 11-4.
- After dropping the first set, 11-7, freshman Josie Russ responded with wins of 11-7, 11-8 and 11-7 to defeat Howells in the No. 6 spot.
- Tatum Leclair '18 defeated Zoe Wood 3-1 in the No. 7 position by scores of 15-13, 9-11, 11-8 and 11-9.
- After trailing 2-0 (12-10, 11-6), Ale Lampietti '19 responded with three consecutive wins (11-6, 13-11, 11-9) to edge Mariela Mendoza in the No. 8 spot, and Sherly Francois '20 won by injury in the bottom of the lineup.

- The Cardinals are back in action Friday, Jan. 13 and will host Haverford and Tufts beginning at 3 p.m.
