The Lead: The No. 24 Wesleyan University women's squash team edged No. 26 Colby College late Saturday afternoon, at home, 5-4. 

MATCH HIGHLIGHTS:

  • The Cardinals picked up wins in the No. 1, 4, 6, 8 and 9 positions.
  • Laila Samy '18 swept Madiha Molani in the top spot by scores of 11-2, 11-3, 11-8.
  • Ali Imperiale '19 and Sarah Clothier claimed 3-1 wins in the No. 4 and No. 8 positions, respectively. Imperiale defeated Camilia Cricket Di Galoma 9-11, 11-6, 11-6, 11-2, and Clothier beat Elise O'Brien 11-3, 11-2, 9-11, 11-2.
  • Josie Russ '20 swept the No. 6 spot (11-5, 12-10, 11-8) and Ale Lampietti '19 swept the No. 9 position (11-8, 11-1, 11-4).

UP NEXT:

  • The Cardinals return to action Saturday, Jan. 21 and will face Mt. Holyoke (12 p.m.) and Colby (4 p.m.) in the Pioneer Valley Invite at Mount Holyoke College.
