The Lead: The No. 26 Wesleyan University men's squash team defeated No. 27 Hamilton College Sunday, 6-3, to finish 2-1 at the two-day Pioneer Valley Invitational.
MATCH HIGHLIGHTS:
- Wesleyan won the No. 1-3 positions, as well as the No. 5, 7 and 8 spots.
- In the top of the lineup, Chris Hart '17 earned a 3-1 win with victories of 11-5, 7-11, 11-6, 11-8.
- David Sneed '17 and Zach Roach '17 each swept their matches from the No. 2 (11-3, 11-4, 11-6) and No. 3 (11-8, 11-6, 11-4) positions, respectively.
- In the No. 5 spot, Grant Lounsbury '17 cruised to a 3-0 sweep with scores of 11-2, 11-5, 11-4.
- Josh Lane '19 earned a tough 3-1 win in the No. 7 position, 11-8, 16-18, 11-8, 11-8, and Kevin Le '19 claimed a thrilling 3-2 victory in the No. 8 spot. After falling in the first set, 11-6, Le responded with consecutive wins of 11-9 and 11-6. He dropped the fourth set 11-7, but edged his opponent 20-18 in the fifth.
