The Lead: The No. 23 Wesleyan University women's squash team lost to No. 17 Franklin & Marshall College Friday morning, 8-1 in the first round of the Walker Cup (C Division) at the 2017 College Squash Association (CSA) National Team Championships.
HIGHLIGHTS:
- Laila Samy '18, who was recently crowned the NESCAC Women's Squash Player of the Year, picked up the only win for the Cardinals.
- Samy swept Fiona Murphy in the No. 1 position by scores of 11-3, 11-7, 11-7.
- Annie Ferreira '17 picked up an 11-6 win in set three of the No. 5 slot, but dropped the match 3-1 (11-2, 11-6, 6-11, 11-7).
- In the No. 9 spot, Ale Lampietti '19 won the first set, 11-8, but lost the next three including a thriller in the fourth, 16-14.

- Wesleyan drops into the consolation bracket and will play No. 20 Dickinson College tomorrow at 9 a.m. at Princeton.
