No. 30 Men's Squash Drops 6-3 Match to No. 22 MIT

MIDDLETOWN, Conn. — In its first match since returning home from a training trip in California, the Wesleyan University men's squash team fell 6-3 to MIT on Friday evening at the Rosenbaum Squash Center. The loss brings the No. 30 Cardinals' record to 3-4 on the year, while No. 22 MIT improves to 10-2.

MATCH HIGHLIGHTS:

  • Wesleyan's first point came at No. 9, where Premchai Bunsermvicha '20 beat Andrew Lu 11-7, 11-7, 13-11.
  • Kevin Le '19 was particularly impressive in his win at No. 7 over Wow Kang. The junior dropped the first game, but after some mid-match adjustments ran through the next three games to take it 6-11, 11-8, 11-2, 11-6.
  • Sean Choi '21 had another long battle at No. 1, something he's already been making a habit of early on in his career at Wesleyan. The freshman came out on top this time around, topping Joe O'Connor 11-9, 2-11, 11-9, 3-11, 12-10.

  • The busiest portion of Wesleyan's schedule is just ramping up, and the Cardinals will next be in action this Sunday, January 14th when they host Hamilton College at 12 p.m.
